Mr. Monroe has over 30 years of financial and investment management experience managing assets for affluent investors.  He currently serves a President of Monroe Capital Partners (2013-Present) and concurrently held the same roles at Capes Capital Management (2013-2018).   Prior to his founding MCP, Mr. Monroe served as the President of Chesapeake Investment Group (2008-2013) the holding company for the wealth management firm Chesapeake Financial Group, Inc. (1998-2013) and Chesapeake Trust Company, Inc.  He also served as an Investment Advisor for Fidelity Investment's Portfolio Advisory Services and a Trader for Fidelity's Premium Services (1993-1998).  Mr. Monroe is a frequent instructor at William and Mary's Osher Institute teaching Behavioral Finance.

Mr. Monroe is a graduate of North Carolina State University where he earned B.S. degrees in both Economics (1988) and Statistics (1989).  He is a CFA Charterholder (CFA®) and holds the Certificate of Investment Performance Measurement designation (CIPM®). He is a member of the CFA Institute.
